Italian jumper and sprinter Andrew Howe broke his achilles tendon today

Today,during a training-session in Rieti,Andrew Howe had a serious bak injury broking his achilles tendon.Already visit from italian federation medical-staff,it was decided for a surgery in Perugia in the morning of tomorrow.After that,it will be possible to decide the time of long recovering.Very bad news for one of most important italian athlete:heard him by phone,he seemed very sad but sure to say this new problem was not connected to the older problems he had.The season is finished for him but,after recovering,ready to come back.

Last race of Andrew Howe was last saturday in Pergine where he won 200m in 20"47 and now he was expected to run on saturday against Steve Mullings in Sardinia(Italy).Andrew Howe was silver medallist in long jump in WC-Osaka 2007 and european champ always in long jump in Goteborg in 2006.
